Evolytics’ is proud to announce that two members of our data visualization team, Ryan Sleeper and Lindsey Poulter, have been recognized as authors of two of the Top 5 Tableau Public visualizations of the year. Each year since 2013, employees of Tableau have handpicked their favorite 25 visualizations of the year from thousands of published visualizations. The 25 finalists then go to a popular vote among all of Tableau’s online community to choose the top 5.
In 2015, it was announced that Tableau Public passed the 150,000 active users milestone, and they recently shared that they had reached the 1 Billion views milestone. With such a high volume of authors and quality data visualization created each year, the Top 5 honors are truly special.
This is Ryan’s fourth time in four years as a Top 25 finalist, and third as a Top 5 honoree. Here is a look at his Top 5 viz, which explored the frequency of winning Powerball numbers during the craze of the $1 Billion+ jackpot in early 2016.
“It is an amazing honor to be recognized among so many talented authors in the Tableau Public community,” Ryan said. “The top 25 Tableau Public vizzes get better each and every year, and it means a lot to me personally that the community continues to enjoy my work.”
Lindsey received a Top 5 recognition with a visualization she created during her very first year sharing her work on Tableau Public! Lindsey’s viz allowed the end user to look up any college to see how they’ve performed during college basketball’s annual “March Madness” tournament.
“I was surprised to learn that one of my first Tableau Public Vizzes was in the Top 25,” Lindsey said. “Later, I was elated to learn my peers had voted for it to be in the Top 5 and I was featured among people who continually inspire me.”
We are proud of Ryan and Lindsey for earning this achievement and look forward to seeing what’s next in 2017!
