How it all started

We started from the bottom, now we’re here. Literally. Concord originally started in 2003 as a recruiting engine housed in Stu Nutting’s basement. Stu carved out various dank places in his home, including a laundry room, where he could escape the chaos of young children. With a determined focus on recruiting, Stu built a model for finding top IT talent that still survives today.

Early on, one of Concord’s best clients was an IT staffing company where Chris Davis and Jeff Northrup worked. Chris and Jeff had a steady pipeline of “open jobs” and Stu consistently found the best people to fill those positions. Ultimately, the three joined forces to supercharge the Concord business model with the addition of a robust sales engine.

Thanks to some dumb luck and the power of relationships, Jeff turned a breakfast at Perkins with Florin Ibrani into the conversation that transformed a successful sales and recruiting engine into a full-fledged consulting company. In a few short years, Concord realized its vision to provide IT solutions and consulting services. Today, Concord boasts five major data capabilities and an entire host of experts ready to deploy their knowledge and solve messy problems for clients. We may have outgrown the original basement space, but the heart of the company remains the same.

Concord found its niche: talented, hard-working consultants who apply their skills to targeted data problems. In other words, “smart people – real delivery.”
